Dr Sandy Bond
Real Estate Consultant, Author, Professor
Sandy G. Bond, Ph.D., has over twenty-five years of international real estate experience having lived and worked in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Her career has encompassed real estate appraisal, valuation consultation, academic research and university teaching.
Dr. Bond returned to the USA in 2014 from her homeland New Zealand where she was the Professor of Property Studies at Lincoln University in Christchurch. In addition to teaching, her research agenda aims to solve globally significant real estate issues: specifically,the impact of detrimental conditions, including climate change, on property values.
As a result of the 7.1 and 6.3ML 2011 earthquakes in Christchurch, NZ, her research now encompasses the impact of natural disasters on property values. She was invited by a leading national law firm to join a panel of four real estate appraisal experts from around NZ to advise the Government (Earthquake Commission) on valuation methodology related to compensation for real estate damage caused by the Canterbury earthquakes.
A frequent presenter at international real estate conferences and seminars, Dr. Bond is also the author of numerous articles and monographs published in prominent real estate journals within New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, the UK and USA. She was awarded the International Real Estate Service Award in 2016, the Property Institute of NZ Academic Award in 2010, and the PRRES Achievement Award in 2002 for her significant contribution to real estate education and research.
Dr Bond holds a Ph.D. from Curtin University in Western Australia, a Commerce Degree in Valuation and Property Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and an MBS in real estate. She is a Senior Member of The Property Institute of New Zealand (PINZ), an Associate Member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers (ANZIV), and is a Past President of both the International Real Estate Society (IRES) and the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES).
